Steve is an experienced Non-Executive Director, Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Adviser with more than two decades of governance, financial and strategic advisory experience across listed, unlisted and not-for-profit organisations. His career spans a wide range of industries including logistics, mining and resources, agriculture, property, manufacturing, retail, insurance, tourism, hospitality, and financial services. 

He currently serves as a Non-Executive Director of Bertling Logistics Australia, part of a 160-year-old global shipping and logistics group operating 50 offices worldwide, and as a Non-Executive Director of ArcelorMittal Projects Australia, the local arm of one of the world’s largest steel and mining groups with approximately 126,000 employees globally. Since 2003, he has also been an Executive Director of Ledger Financial Group, a multidisciplinary advisory and accounting firm supporting clients ranging from SMEs to public companies across multiple jurisdictions.  

Throughout his career, he has led major commercial, governance and compliance projects including feasibility and funding negotiations for large-scale agricultural developments, due diligence leadership for one of Australia’s largest land acquisitions, and acting as primary adviser on IPOs on both the Australian and London Stock Exchanges. He has also overseen the establishment and management of more than 25 property investment schemes and advised on complex tax, corporate transactions, and high-net-worth investment structures. 

 He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Western Australia, a Master of Finance & Investment, and professional accreditations including Chartered Accountant, Chartered Tax Adviser, AFSL licensee and Registered Tax Agent. Outside his professional career, he is an accomplished endurance athlete and a long-standing contributor to Surf Life Saving WA.
