FRANKLYN BAI KARGBO
NON-EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN
A vastly experienced Legal Practitioner with over 45 years of professional standing. He is currently a Consultant Partner at Tanner Legal Advisory, a leading law firm for business and investment in Sierra Leone and the West African sub-region.
Mr. Kargbo has served in both the public and private sectors at local and international levels, including as Attorney General and Minister of Justice (1993 – 1994 and 2010 – 2015), Presidential Advisor in the Strategy and Policy Unit in the Office of the President, responsible for the supervision of the Governance Cluster of five Government Ministries, and Executive Secretary of the Sierra Leone Truth and Reconciliation Commission (on secondment from the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights).
At the international level, Mr. Kargbo has also served as Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions in the Republic of The Gambia, Chief Human Rights Officer and later Senior Legal Advisor to the United Nations Mission in Ethiopia and Eritrea (UNMEE), Senior Legal Counsel to the Peace and Security Council of the African Union Commission, and Senior Legal Adviser to the then African Union Mission in Sudan (AMIS/Darfur).
Mr. Kargbo holds a BA (Hons) in Law and an LLM from the University of Nottingham (UK) and was called to the Bar of Lincoln’s Inn (UK) in 1980.
